The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has selected Saints Peter & Paul alumna Sarah Morris to the Fall 2018 All-Sportsmanship Team. A 2018 SSPP graduate, Sarah is currently a freshmen student-athlete at Hendrix College in Arkansas where she plays field hockey in the fall and tennis in the spring. Student-athletes chosen for this award were selected by their teammates and/or coaches in regards to their representation of their athletic program and school.
As a freshman, Sarah played two games as goalie and 15 games in the field for the Hendrix Warriors. In her first collegiate game in goal against perennial power and SAA Conference champion Rhodes College, Sarah successfully turned away a penalty stroke and maintained a team-high seven saves. For the season, Sarah ranked #9 in saves in the SAA Conference.
She loves the college life at Hendrix – in the classroom, on the athletic field and in the local community. Sarah is majoring in English with a concentration in film studies and a minor in Social Justice with a concentration in education. A Presidential Volunteer Service Gold Medal recipient this year, Sarah is also a Miller Service Center Scholar where she has continued her commitment to service to others in the community.
Thinking of her Sabre and Hendrix experiences, Sarah commented that “SSPP prepared me in balancing my academics and athletics; the focus on sportsmanship taught me how to win and lose with grace. I am loving life here at Hendrix and am excited to see what the rest of my years here have in store for me!”
